Writers’ Roundtable are gatherings designed to bring together local writers, authors, poets, and creatives, to discuss ideas and ongoing projects, break writers block and fun prompt writing exercises. Where: KC Art Club, 920 Baltimore Ave (64105) (located in a gallery, directly west of the Downtown Library) What time: 6pm to 10pm (guests begin arriving after 6pm) What to bring: Guests are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, paper and/or pen/paper (we will have materials for you to use too). Also, attendees are welcome to bring anything you are working on. Ideas for feedback and collaboration are welcome. BYOB: Guests are welcome to bring your favorite wine, beer, or spirits for yourself and to share with others. We will have beverages to share, too, plus water and sodas. Cost: Suggested contribution $5 or $10, whatever you can do. What do we do: 1. We start with a brief update on goals from the previous meeting and individual experiences. We'll celebrate their progress and set new ones. 2. Then if anyone has any work they'd like feedback on they can hand out copies for the group and/or read their work out loud. 3. The writing juices are flowing, and we've been inspired to write, we'll spend the remainder of the time working on whatever we want. Message with any questions, or call/text directly, 816 372 8218.
