One court will be for recreational play. It is a great way to learn skills and meet new people. The other court will be more competitive play. Depending of the number of people who show up this will be the procedure/rules for playing on the comp side. 1. Minimum of 4 players per team with a designated captain to sign your team on the waiting list to play on the court. We will not force teams to break apart or force players to play with people they do not wish to play with. You may freely move from one team to the next if YOU choose too! Captains have the right to say no to outside players if they wish to keep their team of 4 or 5 together. 2. 3 teams the games will be played to 25 rally points. 4 or more the games are played to 21 rally points. If we have 4 or more teams you will end up sitting out 2 games. Instead of just sitting around you may want to play a game on the recreational side (to 15 points). This seemed to work out wonderfully when we had 5 teams. 3. Players next to play will be inline in the marked off spot and put in play as soon as the current game ends. The next game should start immediately. If you’re coming off the court you may take a break, get right back in line to play, or go over to the rec side. 4.Maximum of 2 wins and your team will have to vacate the court. The losing team will also have to vacate the court as well and 2 new teams will play. If a team wins twice and has to come off the court, the losing team may put themselves back on the list first. 5.Keep an open mind. If your skills are not up to par there will be some coaching aimed to HELP you develop into a better player. Its not a bad thing to learn on the Rec court! Other players moving from side to side are usually friendly and can help guide you in skill development. 6.The goal is bump, set, and spike! We do not want players just smacking the ball around. The competitive side should be played using these skills. Good players will hit the ball hard! 7.Net play. If you touch the net call it! If you go under the net the play stops. This is for safety reasons! 8.Have FUN!!!
