Namaste, Today's meetup features visiting monk, Swami Kripamayananda, who resides at Toronto Vedanta Society. He will provide an intriguing talk on the subject of Avatars and whether Sri Ramakrishna, a priest in a Kali temple in India, and prolific guru of Swami Vivekananda, was indeed an avatar of Vishnu, God the Sustainer. The lecture series will continue next Sunday of Swami Sarvapriyananda on Aparokshanubhuti (Self-Realization) held at the Swami Vivekananda Hall at the Hindu Cultural Centre. The lectures of Swami Sarvapriyananda is available on YouTube beginning with "Introduction to Vedanta - Swami Sarvapriyananda - Aparokshanubhuti - Part 1 - July 05, 2016" Swami Sarvapriyananda, lucidly unfolds the path to direct "Self-Realization" presented by Adi Shankaracharya in Aparokshanubhuti. The text for this series is a translation of Adi Shankaracharya's Aparokshanubhuti by Swami Vimuktananda. See the Vedanta ( Facebook page for a .pdf of a Roman transliteration of the text. The aim of this meetup is to deep dive into Vedanta, an inquiry into our Self, by screening the compelling talks by Swami Sarvapriyananda. It's a 20 part series that we'll continue to repeat until we can be better conversant. NOTE: Our Meetup hours begin at 10:30am Drop-ins welcome. The Hindu Society of Alberta volunteers donate lunch after the temple services. We are welcome to join them after our program.
