Sunrise to Sunset-A Cross-Florida Lark Experience! This lark begins with an Atlantic Ocean sunrise at Jax Beach and ends later in the day with a Gulf of Mexico sunset at Cedar Key! OVERVIEW We did this in April, and it immediately became the most popular & discussed lark to date. Based on feedback from that event, I have made a couple itinerary changes. Space is limited to a FIRM 24 people, so please complete your RSVP today. Cost details explained below. MEET & GREET – 7:15 am We will meet in the parking lot of the Jacksonville Beach location of Metro Diner. From there, we’ll walk a couple blocks to the ocean. Please ensure you are on time so you don’t miss the sunrise. SUNRISE – 7:35 am Great weather is on order to start the day with a beautiful sunrise. BREAKFAST – 7:45-9:00 am Back at Metro Diner, we’ll enjoy a group breakfast; this place is yummy and won’t disappoint. BEACH WALK – 9:00-10:15 am To help burn off a few calories and kill some time before we go wine drinking, let’s go for a brief beach walk. We’ll walk the beach down to Beach Blvd and then take 1st Street back up to Metro Diner. CARPOOL/DRIVE TO WINERY – Depart 10:15 am Carpooling is recommended to minimize how many cars are on the road. The Jax Beach Police recommend we leave cars overnight at Oceanfront Park: The lot is free, well-lit, has security cameras, and is well-patrolled. The lot is located at 429 1st St S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. WINERY – 11:45-1:15 pm Family owned Tangled Oaks Vineyard is a gem in the tiny town of Grandin, between Palatka and Gainesville. Their flagship wine is a Noble Red, and they also offer Carlos, Spring Blush, Belle Amie, and a nice variety of flavored wines. We will enjoy a wine tasting at this family winery. LUNCH – 1:30-2:45 pm Just a few minutes down the road from the vineyard, there is a neat family restaurant in Melrose called Blue Water Bay. LA CHUA TRAIL – 3:15-4:00 pm The beautiful & unique La Chua Trail is famous for the awesome views of wildlife in their natural habitat. We will be on an elevated walkway which provides great view for photographs. CEDAR KEY – Arrive 5:15 pm The sun does not set until almost 7:00 pm, so we’ll have some time to relax and enjoy a happy hour. Please bring a small cooler with drinks and snacks to enjoy at the motel before the sunset. Cedar Key is a charming & quaint fishing community. If you have been before, you know what I’m talking about; if you haven’t been before, you will love it! LODGING A Lark About has coordinated for the group to stay at the cozy Cedar Inn Motel. Jim & Debbie have blocked the entire motel for us, but you must reserve now in order to ensure you get a room. The total cost for rooms starts at $98.10. Each room has two beds, so two people or more to a room is best; I will assist with matching up roommates. Some rooms can accommodate up to four people. When you call (352-543-5455), please mention you are with A Lark About. SUNSET – 6:51 pm After everything we do this magical day, we will be sure to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. Nightlife awaits afterwards... SUNDAY – OCTOBER 27 Spend the day Sunday too, starting off with breakfast, then doing a variety of activities: Cedar Key State Park, Cedar Key History Museum, check out Southern Cross clam farm, shopping along Dock & 2nd Streets, and finally, the Jags-Jets game on TV at 1 pm! EVENT FEE In addition to covering your entrance to the La Chua park, the fee is to compensate A Lark About for the time it takes to plan, schedule, and facilitate this awesome lark. The hotel, food, drinks, and fuel are your cost and discretion. SMALL PRINT - Event Refunds: Refunds available if you cancel at least seven day prior to event start time. Thank you. - Assumption Of Risk And Release Of Liability: By completing your RSVP for this event, you agree with the A Lark About Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1bx2I-Ml32dOE0EgM7wkPbAVxGVkBnGHS
