It's finally summer!!! Let's kick things off with a fun one. We'll explore Pelham Bay Park and City Island.
Pelham Bay Park is New York City's largest park (3 times the size of central park) It has a 13 mile shoreline that hugs the long island sound.
City Island is a little less NYC and a little more Cape Cod. City Island is a quaint island in the Bronx full of old Victorian homes, squawking seagulls, fresh salt water, a marina full of boats, and enough lobster to stuff your face for days.
At Pelham Bay Park we will be exploring the Kazimiroff Nature Trail. If the weather is warm enough we will take a short break at Orchard Beach to cool off before heading over to City Island. On City Island for those that are interested we will grab dinner. The island is filled with tons of options for seafood lovers. If we have a large number we may break up into smaller groups so that restaurants can better accommodate us.
Be prepared! Bring water and sunblock. If you'd like to take a dip in the water bring beach supplies
Inside Grand Central Terminal you'll find me in front of the Zarro's (close to track 35 - not the one downstairs). Make sure to have a metro card ready. We will wait there for about 10 mins before we head to the 6 train.
FYI - For those who prefer to meet - directly at Pelham Bay Park there is a separate meetup listing. RSVP on that listing (No need to RSVP here also)
