At 4 pm take a 4-mile jaunt along the Noland Trail Then at 6 pm: The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is recruiting oyster farmers. Act to restore our Chesapeake Bay through the CBF Oyster Farming Seminar at The Mariners Museum. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation has developed this seminar for those interested in becoming oyster farmers. Volunteers will nurture larva through their first year into young adulthood. CBF will provide larva, recycled shells, and cages. Then next year at the "Round-Up" oysters are transplanted onto sanctuary (non-harvest) reefs in nearby waters. When our babies are grown up, each one will filter up to 50 gallons of the Chesapeake Bays' water per day. This our chance to actively help restore our beloved Chesapeake Bay. Anyone with water access and willing to share their space for this project, please contact Mike Middleton at mikeEmiddleton@gmail.com or through this meetup page.
