About

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) has been described by some as a type of hypnosis. At our last meetup, the attendees agreed that at this next meeting they wanted to practice NLP Anchoring. Even if you didn’t attend our last Meetup, you can come and learn how to benefit from NLP Anchoring for yourself and for others, as well as how to do it. As we do various types of anchoring, we will explain what it is, how to do it, and give you an opportunity to practice it if you wish. What follows below is copied from the post that announced our last meeting, where we introduced members to the subject of NLP Anchoring. ————————————————————————— NLP Anchoring: Your Key to Excellence Successful people are generally in control of their state of mind and behavior, no matter what their external circumstances. They have a most excellent way of staying in a positive “up” state of mind. Examples of “up” states of mind are: • Motivation • Confidence • Happiness • Calmness . . . Or any other desirable emotional feeling that can be a resource to help you achieve what you want. Whether you are coaching yourself or others, would you like to learn how to: • Have a “switch” that you can use to “turn on” a positive “up” state in yourself or others? • “Anchor” and “fire” (turn on) a state in a person at any time in any modality (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, etc.)? • “Overpower” a negative state with a positive one in yourself or others? • Move someone from an Undesirable State — a “stuck” State, such as Procrastination —to Desirable State, such as Motivation? • Change an external stimulus that formerly triggered an un-resourceful response so that it now automatically triggers a resourceful response instead? • Change memories from the past so that they no longer trigger negative states but evoke positive ones instead? • Discover, elicit the pattens of, and utilize excellent behavior in yourself and others? All of these and more you can do with NLP Anchoring. Come to this Monday night’s Meetup to begin to learn how to do these things with NLP Anchoring. At this Meetup, you will first learn what a State is and how it differs from a Goal or Outcome. Next, we will quickly review foundational concepts to anchoring — Rapport, Sensory Acuity, and Modalities — that you can be able to anchor anyone in any modality. Then, you will learn the right way to set an Anchor so that it “sticks” and works. Finally, you will begin to learn various ways, such as those bullet-pointed above, to apply anchors to help yourself and others achieve excellence (I say, begin because these will take more than one Meetup to cover). And the best part is: you will get the opportunity to practice anchoring. I look forward to seeing you there. Yours truly, Steve Dr. Steven C.
