You can see each night's programmed dances by going to the "This Month" page of our website, PasadenaFolkDanceCoop.org.
If you would like to have a taste of international folk dancing to see if you like it, we highly recommend you join us at 7:30 pm on a Friday night for about 20 minutes of introductory teaching. We know it is difficult to walk into a room full of strangers, so our group makes a real effort to help people new to folk dancing feel welcome and comfortable. In this main, Friday night group, we generally teach the same dances all month long, recognizing that it can take a while for the dances to sink in.
Afterwards, if you wish, you can stay, join in, or watch as we dance the dances taught in the previous month, and present another, more difficult dance. At 8:30 pm we break for refreshments. Afterwards, the dances you learned in introductory teaching will be repeated. Repetition is one of the keys to learning dances. Throughout the evening we will have a mix of dances, including some you can simply join in, follow along, and have fun with. You don't need to RSVP - most of our dancers don't.
