This 3-day event is aimed at giving you an awareness of and introduction to the skills that you need to wild camp in the UK mountains confidently and safely. There will even be a little bit of rock climbing thrown in. The most likely plan (subject to weather) is along these lines: Saturday a.m. - Basics of mountain navigation p.m. - Depart for wild camping expedition night - First night camping Sunday a.m. - Strike camp and continue to trek, learning more navigational skills p.m. - Pitch camp for second night Monday a.m. - Strike camp and descend to valley p.m. - Rock climbing session You will need to provide suitable mountain clothing, especially waterproof jacket and trousers (we can provide a full kit list - http://thesummitisoptional.com/category/kit-lists/); walking boots; and a rucksack. You will also need to provide a tent, sleeping bag and all other wild camping equipment and food. You need to be fit enough to walk for 6+ hours over variable terrain, including ascending probably 600-700 metres.
