Come join L.L.Bean as we explore the trails of the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. See the sights and vistas of Kansas' ONLY National Preserve. We'll meet at the Visitor Center, hike along Fox Creek, then crossover and hike the Scenic Overlook Trail, Prairie Fire Loop, David Trail and Schoolhouse Spur. Total distance could be as much as 9-10 miles, although you will be able to pick a route and distance. We might get to see bison in the bison pasture, but we'll definitely get to see the grandeur of the Flint Hills at the Scenic Overlook. We'll enjoy a midday snack and leave time for a swing through the visitor center! Activity Level: Easy to moderate. What to Wear: weather appropriate clothing (layers, no cotton), sturdy hiking shoes/boot. What to Bring: Trekking poles, day pack, water, snack, a lunch and personal items. Optional: Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, binoculars, camera/smartphone.
