This is one of my favorite streams in Georgia. The fishing is hit or miss, but the possibility of large (-ish) wild trout exists, the stream is beautiful, and I have rarely seen another fisherman (maybe because the stream is 2.25 miles in). It's a fairly rigorous hike, including some stream crossings. Details about the hike are here: We will probably hike about 6-8 miles all told. Times are approximate for leaving Atlanta to arrival back in Atlanta. It's about a two hour drive, so my hope is to be on the trail around 10:00 am, back to the car(s) around 6:00 pm, and back in Atlanta around 8:00 pm. As before, you won't need waders, but your feet will be happier if you wear neoprene socks (like these: Other than that, you need shoes you can wade in (NOT soft-bottomed 'water shoes'), eye protection (ideally polarized sunglasses), water or a water filter, food, a Georgia fishing license, and whatever else you would normally bring on a day hike. If you have a fly rod, that's great; if not, I have some to lend. Feel free to message me with gear questions. I'll be fishing a 4-weight, if that helps. If you're coming from Atlanta, I can give you a ride (up to four passengers); otherwise, we'll arrange to meet somewhere along the way. Participate at your own risk.
