Join us for yoga with Sara Balkun. In these heartfelt and explorative classes, you will be encouraged to meet yourself right where you are and practice yoga for longevity. You will be guided to mindfully and compassionately cultivate connection, strength and flexibility in the mind, body and heart. This class is a blend of breath work, flowing movement, restoration and meditation based on the unique needs of the class. People of all levels are invited. Instructor Bio: After years of being stuck in survival mode and living with the underlying belief that she was simply unworthy of love and support, Sara began to feel a decline in her physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It has been through the practice of yoga, connecting with nature and the exploration of creative art processes that Sara has found tools for empowerment and whole body healing. It is Sara’s life purpose to share this healing and to allow those who have felt unworthy to be seen, heard and valued. Sara is an intuitive and creative teacher who compassionately holds space for people of all ages, abilities, and experiences as they safely bridge the gap between their mind, body and heart. She enjoys bringing awareness and balance to the autonomic nervous system as well as offering choices that encourage students to lovingly meet themselves right where they are. With a 200 hour Yoga certification and a background in Special education, Sara has spent over a decade working to share the tools of breath, movement and mindfulness with children, families and teachers across Connecticut. $5 - $15 suggested donation. Free parking in back and front of the Toivo building, on Franklin Avenue, and in a parking lot across the street from Toivo next to Tico's.
