Hello Wine Collective Group! Our May tasting will explore some beautiful wines from the Russian River Valley in Northern California. Russian River Valley, one of the United States' top-ranked wine regions, is located at the heart of Sonoma County, California. It is one of California's coolest and foggiest AVA's (particularly in its southern and western portions), and its cool growing season and long, slow ripening period promotes complexity and balance in the wines. As a result, Russian River Valley wines are widely respected, particularly those made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The team at Total Wine is creating this class from scratch just for us so it should be a great line up of delicious wines. This class will focus on 8 varietals. Each pour is 1oz. Feel free to bring your own wine glasses as well. Some people like tasting with a taller glass. The tasting fee for the class is $20 per person. You can either pay cash at the beginning of the class (I'll collect it) or you can use your credit card at the register. If you are using your credit card please ask the cashier to print you copy of your receipt and bring me the copy. The Total Wine staff will be collecting afterward. The class is capped at 40 people. Classes fill quickly so RSVP asap. There will be delicious Charcuterie Boards to nosh on as well. And at the end of our last pour we will raffle off 3 bottles of wine that we just tasted! Parking is a bit crazy on Saturdays. Our recommendation is to park where the former Toys R Us store is. The other end is very crowded with Trader Joe's shoppers. Lastly, Bob and I look forward to seeing you there!
