Have you hiked the highest mountain in Wales yet? Come join us for a weekend hiking experience in Southern Britain’s mountainous heart, Snowdonia. We’ve rented a converted golf clubhouse 900 feet above sea level in the breathtaking Moelwyn mountains which we have all to ourselves for the weekend - where the Welsh language and culture still thrive in nearby villages. Every morning you will wake to fresh mountain air and incredible views across the Vale of Ffestiniog. What to expect: In the spirit of TravelSoul we look after each other, so you may be helping with preparing meals for the group, giving good vibes, sharing your skills and talents and helping one another. There is no requirement to, but we love it when people get involved! After being on many trips the thing that I love the most is not just the places I get to see, but it’s the new friends I make along the way. This is one of the reasons we focus on the 25-39 year-olds, to give you an opportunity to travel with likeminded people. Itinerary: Friday night: Drive to accommodation, get to know everyone with a few beers and some games Saturday: 8am: Healthy Breakfast 10am: Hike Snowdonia - We take a path less walked up to Snowdon and summit the highest mountain in England and Wales. 7pm: Dinner with the group, a few drinks and sharing stories of the day Sunday: 9am: Healthy Breakfast 11am: Visit an old Welsh town and do an easy 3-4 hour lowland hike walking along beautiful mountain rivers and lakes. 4pm: Drive back to London Difficulty Level: Very good fitness and stamina levels will be required to comfortably tackle longer and harder days with uneven surfaces and rough ground on mountainside. Sustained ascents and descents (often steep) should be anticipated. Ideally participants will have previous experience in mountain hiking. High altitudes are often reached on these walks (up to 1100m) and occasionally you may be required to do light scrambling on a ridge. There are sometimes no designated tracks or footpaths and terrain can be rocky so suitable hiking footwear is required. Hiking boots with ankle support are strongly advisable. Price: £170 (Earlybird £160 if booked by the 1st July) Includes - 2 nights accommodation - Sat: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Sunday: Breakfast & Lunch - Guided hikes - Some beers and cocktails on Sat night Not included: Travel to/from accommodation (though we can help with arranging carpool), travel insurance, additional alcohol (some drinks will be provided). Food: we will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner - and can cater for vegetarians and vegans easily. We love healthy food! FAQ 1. Can I come by myself? Absolutely yes, we love solo travellers, the majority of people come by themselves and by the end of the trip you won’t feel like you came by yourself. 2. Do I need to be fitter/stronger? On the Saturday we are planning to hike up Mount Snowdon - This is the highest peak in England and Wales and you need a good level of fitness to hike this mountain. See difficulty level above. 3. How big will the group be? We’re looking to gather a small like-minded group of people to create an awesome social atmosphere, so will limit the group to 12- 16 people. 4. Do I need insurance? Yes - please make sure you have travel insurance. We don’t provide insurance and can’t take any responsibilities for the activities. 5. How old do I need to be? Most people are in their twenties and thirties. 6. How do we get there? You need to find your own way to/from the accommodation in Wales - if you don’t drive or don’t have a car, let us know so that we can arrange carpool. 7. What if I have to cancel? As we have to hire cars and pay upfront for accommodation, we ask for a deposit. The deposit is non-refundable. If you have to cancel and give us some notice, we may be able to find a replacement for your spot, although we can’t guarantee this. The more notice you can give the more likely we are to find a replacement.
