SOCO Vista - Columbia, SC
823 Gervais St #220
We're happy to announce and host the May meetup, which follows the fantastically successful Open Source 101 event on April 18! Topics are incredibly interesting, and the speakers are world-class and ones we know well. Attendees will learn a lot from both presentations and meet new people while networking. Topic #1: Open Source Deep Learning Speaker: Todd Jordan, CEO @ White Rabbit AI Abstract: forthcoming, but will be awesome. But for now: Deep learning is part of a broader family of machine learning methods based on the layers used in artificial neural networks. Learning can be supervised, semi-supervised or unsupervised - from Wikipedia.. Topic #2: Composing and Functionality in Vue with Scoped Slots Speaker: Jake Dohm, Web Developer, Organizer of Triangle JS Bio: Jake is a front-end web developer from Raleigh, NC. He works on web projects at Good Work, a web development company based in Dallas. In his free time Jake enjoys all things web, his family, church, powerlifting, and outdoor sports. Abstract: Most of us are adept with using components to compose our UI, and keep our templates DRY. What gets tricky is re-using logic across components, especially components with differing interfaces. Let's look at how we can use Scoped Slots to abstract functionality into reusable components. Both Todd and Jake are traveling from the Research Triangle Park (RTP) in NC to attend and deliver talks, and both really are fantastic speakers. Doors open at 6:00 pm ET for networking, programming begins at 6:30 pm. Food and beverages will be served, and great swag will be available, as always. Contact us directly at info@allthingsopen.org with questions.
