Let's go underground and up on the #2 IRT. We sometimes don't notice the art that has been installed in our subway stations. Why not spend a day viewing some great works. The works are from unknown to known artists. We will begin on 96th Street Station & Broadway. There are murals, tiles and stained glass work for us to admire and photograph. Remember, when we leave the train to view the artwork, we will need to wait for the next train to arrive in order to get to the next station. The wait could be from 2 to 10 minutes. We'll start on the number 2 line of the IRT at 96th Street and we will visit about 20 stations. We are only viewing works of art in Manhattan and the Bronx. There will be another tour for the Brooklyn art on the IRT at another time. Please be are that we won't have any restroom facilities. I'm hoping that we won't need to make a restroom stop. If we need to stop, it will be at 125th Street where we will take a 30 minute break for restroom and a bite to eat. (This will be a decision we will make on Saturday). There is a Whole Foods, Burlington and other places for a quick bite and restroom facility. Once we end at 241st Street, the tour will be finished and we will return. Transportation: #2 train to 241st Street (uptown) Meeting Place: 96th Street uptown platform -- last car. I'll have a MeetUp sign Meeting time: 11:30am Organizer fee $7.00
