There are many parts within the psyche and different theoretical models: Freud and Id, ego, and super-ego; John Bradshaw and Inner child; Fritz Pearls and Gestalt Therapy; Richard Schwartz and Internal Family Systems (IFS); Jung and archetypes. What goes on within our psyche is not always uniform and sometimes conflicted or contradictory. There are parts of self that are repressed or have been exiled. This evening we will practice mindfulness with guided instructions and learn ways to use mindfulness as a method to be with and hold different parts of self and support dialogue within. We will use mindfulness to observe and hold our ‘parts’ and finds ways to bridge vs. staying in states of being divided or split or conflicted. This is a deeply healing process and reduces internal conflict, anxiety, and stress. This evening will be an introduction to mindfulness and parts work. All welcome.
