Michelangelo was a missionary. Yes, a missionary. For the power of Michelangelo's art is not expressed so much through technical skill, but in the work's message formed by the ideas which lay back of it. These ideas were meant to not only teach, but transform the viewer. All great art is infused with ideas which have the potential to mold us and expand our life. Perusing the Sistine Chapel while meditating on its art would give us all a graduate degree in philosophy and theology, as well as anthropology and psychology. More importantly, with the right intention and mindset, the experience would inspire and challenge us to grow. If you enjoy art, you will learn in this presentation to experience it at a much deeper and richer level. If you are a creator yourself, whether in painting or writing or music or even business, you will experience a challenge to enrich the soil from which your art grows, and hear the call to make your art your life's mission.
