About

Hi everyone, Business Book Club Meetup #28 is on: • Thursday, July 18th, 19:30 @ MOSCHMOSCH (EUROPAVIERTEL) • OUR NEXT BOOK: Narconomics: How To Run a Drug Cartel (https://amzn.to/2X5Nw0n) Everything drug cartels do to survive and prosper they’ve learnt from big business – brand value and franchising from McDonald’s, supply chain management from Walmart, diversification from Coca-Cola. Whether it’s human resourcing, R&D, corporate social responsibility, off-shoring, problems with e-commerce or troublesome changes in legislation, the drug lords face the same strategic concerns companies like Ryanair or Apple. So when the drug cartels start to think like big business, the only way to understand them is using economics. What do you need to participate? Interest in the topic of the book to be discussed. How can you prepare for the meetup? Think about the following questions: 1) Which ideas in the book were most valuable for you? 2) Any lessons learned which you can apply immediately? 3) Which questions were not answered in the book? What’s next? Our meetup structure: • Introduction: everybody tells ~3 sentences about him/herself • Summary: organizer gives a short summary of the book (~10 min) • Impression: everybody talks ~2 min (own experiences/what did we like most/least?) • Discussion: lessons learned from the book • Total time: ~2hrs. We look forward to your comments and many RSVPs: YESSS! P.S.: Suggestions for the upcoming books are always welcome! :) ****************************************** Sprache: Das Meetup wird entweder auf Deutsch oder auf Englisch gehalten. Am Anfang entscheiden wir gemeinsam welche Sprache gesprochen wird. Language: As soon as there is at least one person who can't speak German, the meetup language will be English. At the beginning of the meetup we decide together which language will be spoken.
